It’s a long way from the posh streets of Chelsea to the Curragh of Kildare, but reality television star Millie Mackintosh will be making the swap on Derby Day to judge the Curragh’s most prestigious Most Stylish Lady competition.
Tabloid favourite Millie, who is married to rapper Professor Green, starred in Channel 4’s ‘Made In Chelsea’ scriped reality show, which followed the fortunes of rich London twentysomethings.
Millie, whose family invented Mackintosh toffees and Quality Street, departed from the show last year.
The fitness enthusiast has turned her hand to modelling and plans to bring out her own fashion line and lifestyle book.
She is also taking part in the BBC’s Celebrity Masterchef programme.
Millie turned heads last May at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby launch at the Marker Hotel in Dubllin in a succession of stylish outfits from Ladies’ Day sponsor Brown Thomas, including a plunging white Chloe number andthis printed Peter Pilotto dress.
She told the attendees: ““I am a huge fan of horseracing and of course fashion so I’m encouraging all the ladies to put their best foot forward on Derby Day and showcase their unique sense of style to be in with a chance of winning this amazing prize.”
Joining Millie on the judging panel for the Most Stylish Lady competition are Stacey O’Donnell of Brown Thomas and Image Magazine’s Melanie Morris.
There is a fabulous prize worth almost €20,000 up for grabs for the lady putting her best foot forward at the races on Derby Day next Saturday.
The winner will get the holiday of a lifetime to Dubai courtesy of Dubai Duty Free, with five nights in the Jumeirah Creekside hotel, flights and €1,000 to spend in Dubai Duty Free.
She will also win a personal shopping experience in Brown Thomas worth €3,000, a champagne lunch in the Restaurant at Brown Thomas for four people, an 18-carat gold diamond pendant from Boodles and an overnight stay at the Marker Hotel.
Ladies who want to take part in the Most Stylish Lady competition can pre-register at www.curragh.ie, and there will also be ‘spotters’ at the racecourse on the day.
The winner of the Most Stylish Lady competition will be announced at the Parade Ring at 3.55pm on Derby Day.
