Plans for this year’s pre-Punchestown Dinner and Parisian Style Fashion Show in aid of sports facilities in St Mary’s College, Naas, are well underway.
Two of the glamourous stars of TV3’s apprentice turned out for the launch of the glossy fashion event at the Killashee House Hotel last Monday, March 21.
Judge Jackie Lavin is one of the main organisers behind the annual fundraising event, which is a fixture on the Kildare fashion calendar, and last season’s Apprentice winner Michelle Massey modelled some of the outfits on show to help launch the event.
The previous three fashion shows were a resounding success, raising much-needed funds for the schools Astro turf and sports facilities. Already the benefits of the Astro turf have been experienced by the school with the first ever winning of the Leinster Schools Junior Hockey League last week.
The committee organising the event is headed up by The Apprentice star Jackie Lavin with the support of a very active group of parents, teachers and past pupils. The committee includes Anna McMahon, Aileen Morrin, Attracta Mongey, Marie O’Neill, Caroline O’Brien, Ber Low, Joan Delahunty, Edwina Kelly, Patricia Gallagher and Denise Murray.
This year’s show promises to be another major event in the fashion calendar. International superstar Rebecca Storm is coming as a special guest to perform. Models from the Andrea Roche Modelling Agency will showcase spring/summer 2011 looks from leading boutiques such as Diamonds & Pearls (Edenderry), Nicola Ross (Naas), Divine (Maynooth), Mary Grant, Brownes Menswear (Naas), Fabucci Shoes (Naas), Aria (Naas) and designers Deborah Veale and Lainey Keogh.
The show will take place on Friday April 8 at Killashee House Hotel, Naas. Tickets are available from Anna at 085 7185376 or Caroline 087 2889493.
