Christmas Day assault investigation in Clane

Gardai at Clane are seeking information about an assault in the town on Christmas Day.

A man returning home from work at a local take away was assaulted between Main Street and the Dubin road.

The man was going towards the 24-hour Maxol station on the Dublin road when three males assaulted him sometime between 1.30am and 4.30am.

He was taken to Naas Hospital and treated for injuires, receiving six stitches to his head and treatment for minor injuries to his hand.

Friends of the man called the Gardai.

Meanwhile, Clane Gardai (045 868262) are also looking for information about graffiti damage to a van at Clane Business park between 1am and 6am on New Year’s Day.

There was no apparent motive for the damage.
