Legend singer Johnny Cash, who played the Dreamland ballroom in Athy in 1963, will be remembered on Saturday, October 20 by his grandson and entertainer Thomas Gabriel in the exact same spot.

Thomas is the eldest grandson of Johnny Cash and also a songwriter and performer returns to follow in the footsteps of his Grandfather.

Don't miss the unmistakable" Cash " voice, an incredible singer songwriter, joined by Athy's own Shane Sullivan .

Thomas's music can best be described as 'Steve Earle meets Townes van Zandt with a hint of Tom Russell'.

Along with a voice that sounds so much like his grandfather's, he brings a wealth of stories from his memories of his childhood and of growing up a member of such an iconic family.

The former Dreamland Ballroom is now known as the the Athy Recreational Community Hall and doors will open at 7pm.

According to organisers  will be a night to remember and the event will be filmed by The Nationwide programme aired on RTE One.Tickets for the event are available in The Gem and Winkles. The event will have a fully licenced bar.

Supported by Athy Lions Club.
