Parish Golf Classic
The Naas Parish Golf Classic in aid of Our Lady and St. David’s Church Restoration Fund tees off on Monday, June 18, at Craddockstown Golf Club. It is a four person team event / scramble and the entry fee, including meal, is E300 per team for the early bird tee time, 8am - noon, and E400 per team for tee time 2 - 4 pm.
Tee Box sponsorship also available for E100 per Tee Box. Individuals can be facilitated on a team. More information and team sheet, please phone; 086 – 8102201.

Naas Summer Project Leaders Reunion
Were you a leader in the Naas Summer Project between 1981 and 1996?
The Summer Project Leaders Reunion takes place on Saturday June 30 at 7pm in Osprey Hotel to include a meal, old photographs, DVD from the past and lots of old faces of course. Tickets are E30 each and can be purchased from Ballycane Church Room 2 on Tuesday June 5, from 8 - 9 pm. For further info follow their page on face book. Residual monies from ticket sales will be donated to the local St. Vincent de Paul.
Fun Family Week in Naas Library
Several free events are taking place in Naas Library for Family Week 2012, from Tuesday 19 to Saturday 23 June. The events kick off with Children’s Folk Songs With Uncle Dan From The Twitters on Tuesday June 19 at 11am to 12.
Storyteller Niall De Burca will entertain on Tuesday June 19 from 6.30 to 7.30pm and there will be a drama performance of ‘Playing To Reach The Stars including clown, puppet and picture book on Friday June 22 from 11 to 12.30pm.
An Interactive Puppet Show and Storytelling is on Saturday June 23 from 2.30 to 3.30 pm.

Teenage song writing workshop
A free four week songwriting workshop for teenagers (12 - 16 year
olds) is taking place in Naas Library on Tuesday mornings during June and July.
The first workshop is taking place on Tuesday June 26 from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

New U 8 weeks programme starting the week of May 28 at K Leisure and costs E130 for non members, free to members. This includes full body analysis, muscle mass recording, new u gym programme, specialised fitness classes, weekly weigh in and diet checks, personal final evaluation and eight weeks of motivation by fitness professionals.

Naas Care of the Aged Centre
The Care of the Aged Centre, Newbridge Road, Naas, is very active in caring for the elderly and organises outings, parties and trips. They also run whist, bowls and bingo on different nights of the week.
Different organisations organise parties for our elderly as well.

Jedward in Punchestown
The All-Ireland and International Sheep Shearing and Wool Handling Championships take place at Punchestown event centre on June 2 and 3 with a fun family festival to entice visitors too. The event includes sheep dog trials, trade and craft stands, Leinster Tug-Of-War Championships, pets corner, dog show, bouncy castles, funfair, hamster zorbing, bungee trampoline, RSA simulator, cookery demonstrations by Catherine Fulvio, live music including from The Willoughbys and Crystal Swing. Jedward will be making a guest appearance (they won’t be performing though) from 11 am on Saturday 2 June.
St. David’s Bridge Club

Naas GAA news
Well done to the Senior Footballers on a fantastic win over Sarsfields in the first round of the championship, it was a great team effort with stand out performances from Conor Mellet, Paul Sullivan and Michael McDonald.
The Senior Hurlers put in a good first half performance to earn another league win over Eire Og this week continuing their good league form. The intermediate hurlers drew with Kill.
The U16 Hurlers put in a very impressive performance to win the division 1 league title last weekend. Well done to the team and mentors.
The senior footballers are raffling two tickets to the final Westlife Concert in Croke Park this June. Raffle Tickets cost E5 and are available from committee members.
There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot on May 24. Numbers drawn were 1, 10, 20 and 27. Next week’s jackpot is E2,050.
We wish all the boys and girls from St Corban’s Primary School, Scoil Bhride and the Convent of Mercy Primary School every blessing as they receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Naas Utd FC Lotto
There was no winner of the Naas United FC lotto draw on May 20. The numbers drawn were 2, 8, 16 and 17. There were four winners of E25 - Jack Coyle, Rodney Reid, Timmy Coyle, and Grace and Mick (seller Rodney Reid). Next week’s jackpot is E2,900. Draw takes place every Sunday night at the Town House Hotel after 10pm.
Ann Kelly won top score at the weekly whist at Naas Care of the Aged Centre on May 20. Other results were Jean Whelan (top lady); Freda Crowe (top gent); Christy Crowe and Kay Roche (halves); Lily Mahon, Gina Hildebrand, Joe Corrigan and Betty Burke (quarters); Monica Bosanguet (longest sitting); Ann McLoughlin (lowest score). Whist for people of all ages takes place every Sunday night in the Care of the Aged Centre at 9pm for people of all ages. Please support.
