If the good weather fails to return and you’re spending more time in the cinema, then check out movie reviews online by Ballymore student Robert Boland.
The 17 year old will be joining the Bugle team from July onwards but if you’d like a sneak preview of his movie ratings, then log onto his website: www.rob-movie-reviews.com.

Big Picnic for Barretstown
It may well be wet and windy but hopefully, the weather will pick up for the annual Avonmore Big Picnic for Barretstown.
This year’s event will be held over the weekend of 6/7 July at the scenic grounds of Barretstown Castle.
Of course, you can have your fundraising picnic at home anytime. Just invite your friends and family around, or have a team picnic at work, at school or with your neighbours.
All you need for a great picnic is good company, some sandwiches, snacks for the kids and hopefully a bit of sunshine!
To host your own picnic and raise funds in aid of Barretstown, just register at www.bigpicnic.ie or call 1850 927 875.
Your Big Picnic Pack will arrive in the post, filled with recipes and games - pick a date (can be uly 6/7 but any date that suits you is great) and then, select a venue - school, work, community field, back garden and invite your guests. Simply ask for a few euro towards Barretstown’s services and you’re on the way.
All support greatly appreciated. Every amount raised, big or small, will result in something magical for a child fighting serious illness. Please email Ciara (email@example.com) if you have any questions.

The first Adjudication of 2012 Tidy Towns Competition will take place in early June so the local Tidy Towns committee appeal to local residents and the business community for help in improving the tidiness of the village.
Last year’s Tidy Towns Adjudicator highlighted the need to paint many gate entrances and the problem of weed growth.
Many of the buildings have received make overs and Kildare County Council plan to resurface the streets when the school closes for holidays. KCC further plan to restore the flood damaged section of the River Walk.
Well done to “faithful regulars” who, year in year out, work consistently and quietly to make our village so beautiful. The Tidy Towns committee also wishes to acknowledge those who support them financially.
