Girls Soccer

Girls Soccer

Prosperous United Girls Soccer season has just been completed and well done to both the under 15 and under 13 Girls teams who competed in the Dublin’s Metropolitan Girls League for the first time in the 2011/2012 season. This League is Ireland biggest League for Girls Soccer where the standard is exceptionally high, and whilst the under 15 found the going tough they did themselves and the Club proud.

On the other hand the U13 finished top of their division, and along the way beat some of the best teams from Dublin in the League and also a number of these girls have made it on to the elite Metro Girls League Academy squad, who currently are the proud holders of the prestigious Gaynor Cup in which teams from all over Ireland participate in each year.

Big thanks to all the parents who supported us week in week out with transport, which is much appreciated, and Thanks to Mark & Peter & Paddy for all their help with the team’s. The future looks bright for the girls in Prosperous and who knows one day we may have a representative on the Ireland squad.

A meeting will take place shortly with parents to plan for the end of season presentation. The best of luck to all taking their exams at present. Anyone interested in joining the League check out the website Metropolitan Girls League for further information.

Well done to all.

A special thanks to John Boothman who co-ordinated the entire event for the area, a lot of background work was done, which few realise is required; the entire day went according to plan.
