The 11th Annual Charity Auction in aid of St. Vincent’s Hospital, Athy takes place on Sunday April 29th 2012 at 2.15 pm in the G.A.A. Club, Athy.

The hospital is seeking your support again this year. We require donations of clean saleable items. Other donations such as unwanted gifts, vouchers, food hampers, bottles of wine or spirits, cash donations, etc. will be very welcome.

Proceeds from the Auction help finance the patients’ Therapeutic Recreation Activities Department. The department provides a wide range of social, recreational and therapeutic activities, including art therapy, crafts, gardening, parties and outings for the residents/patients in the hospital.

HOPE (D) night at the Clanard

HOPE(D) Helping Other People Endure Depression presents John Hogan and Murts Country at the Clonard Hotel, Athy Sunday 8th April 2012. Doors open 9pm. It promises to be a great night’s entertainment. Fashion Show in aid of Luke Renihan

The Fashion Show in aid of the Luke Renihan Fund takes place on Thursday 5th April 2012 in the Clanard Court Hotel. The show begins at 8 pm with doors open 7.30pm. Tickets are €15 and are available from the Clanard Court Hotel, The Salon on Duke street and from Amanda on 087 9521850.

MC for the evening will be Vikki Maloney. With fashion for ladies, gents, children and bridal wear, we guarantee to have something for everyone on the catwalk.

On the night, there will be a monster raffle and a prize for best dressed lady. Special guest on the night is Pat Byrne who is currently doing very well on the Voice of Ireland. Pat will be performing a number of tracks.

Athy Spring Clean gets underway

Athy’s Tidy Towns Committee in conjunction with Athy Town Council and An Taisce are inviting local residents, schools and businesses to come together and join in this year’s National Spring Clean, which is running until 30th April.

Pike Fishing competition results

The results of the recent Pike Fishing Competition in Athy (Sunday March 11th) are as follows: In first place was David Murphy. Second place was taken by Adrian Hyland and Thomas Zan secured third. Athy & District Angling Club will also host another sponsored Open Pike Fishing Competition on Sunday April 15th. Check in at Shaw’s car park from 10.00-10.30am. Fishing is from 11.00-4.00pm.

Both seniors and juniors are welcome. Over €700 in prizes is up for grabs.

Resident Association Grant Scheme 2012

Athy Town Council invites applications for the annual grants scheme which assists Residents Associations for the maintenance and improvement of their estates.

Grants are awarded towards expenses incurred on estate maintenance e.g. landscaping, flowerbeds, tree planting and other minor works.

Inland Waterways Association of Ireland

Athy Town A.F.C soccer camp

Athy Town A.F.C will be holding an Easter Soccer Camp in their new Indoor Astro Training Facility, on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of April. It’s open to kids aged from 6 to 10 but it’s limited to 40 kids at a cost of €25 a head, for more information or to book a place contact Sean on 0876719692.

Athy Community First Responder

Athy Community First Responder is setting up in Athy and we need your help to help those close to you. Community First Responder Volunteers will be fully trained to perform CPR, to use an AED (Defibrillator) and perform Oxygen therapy. First Responders work in conjunction with the HSE to attend emergency calls received by the ambulance service and provide care until the ambulance arrives.
