Volunteers wanted

Volunteers are wanted for the Moore Abbey-based Muiriosa Foundation is a voluntary, non-statutory health organisation. The HQ of the organisation is based at Moore Abbey, Monasterevin, Co Kildare. The organisation cares for people with intellectual disabilities (some with additional physical disabilities) in five midland counties stretching North in Trim, Co Meath, through Westmeath, Offaly, Kildare and South to Abbeyleix in Co Laois.

Moore Abbey is seeking volunteers aged 18 years and over who would like to commit to either one, two, three (or more) hours, one day a week to the volunteer programme. Existing volunteers, when asked why they volunteer cited that they ‘felt good’ that they were contributing to their local community and were ‘doing something worthwhile’ for people other than their immediate family members.

Experience is not necessary. A warm, friendly outgoing personality is all we ask.
