Edenderry news



There was two winners in the Parish Lotto which was held recently. They were Moll Hanley and Homer and Max. They both received €42 when they successfully selected three of the winning numbers 01, 08, 12 & 15. The promoters were Assumpta McNelis and Assumpta Tyrrell.

Golf Classic

Edenderry Lions Club are holding their Annual Fund-Raising Golf Classic on Friday, July 6 at Edenderry Golf Club. The event is sponsored by Ryan’s Pharmacy, Edenderry.

The entry fee, including meal, for a team of four is €140. To book a place on the timesheet please contact Noel Crahan on 086-2556938.

There is an Early Bird prize for the team with the best score that starts before 12.30pm.

All the proceeds from this event will be go to local charities in Edenderry and surrounding areas.

A collection for the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind took place recently in the town and a total of €875 was raised. The organisers wish to thank everyone who contributed to the collection.

Mass at graveyard

The Annual Mass at Ballymacwilliam Graveyard will be held this Friday evening, June 29, at 7.30pm.

St. Padre Pio Pilgrimage

The Annual St. Padre Pio Pilgrimage to Italy takes place this year from 20 – 27 July. The all-in cost is €859 per person sharing.

During your week in Italy you will get the opportunity to visit many places including, Benevneto, Pietrelcina, San Giovanni Rotondo, Morcone, Lanciano and many more places of interest.

Traditional music classes

Traditional Music Classes take place at the Boys National School on Tuesday evenings. A wide range of musical instruments are catered for in the classes including, tin whistle, flute, accordion, mandolin, banjo, fiddle and concertina.

Give blood

The Blood Transfusion Service Board will be in attendance at Edenderry GAA Centre on Wednesday, 4th July from 3pm – 5pm and from 7pm – 9pm. Blood is always needed!

Cubs and scouts

The Edenderry Scouts and Cubs Groups are currently looking for boys and girls to join. The age group for the cubs is 9 – 11 years and the scouts is 12 – 15 years.

The groups meet on a weekly basis at the Parish Centre. The Cubs meet from 6.30pm – 7.30pm, while the Scouts hold their meetings from 7.45pm – 9pm. For further information please contact 085-7052517.
