Edenderry getting ready for ‘Rose of Tralee’

Edenderry people will be travelling to Portlaoise on Friday, 1st June to support Claire Lynch in the International Rose of Tralee Festival selection.

If Claire is selected on the night, then she will go forward to represent Melbourne in this year’ Rose of Tralee Festival.

Claire’s mother Bernie (nee McLoughlin) who now lives in Co. Louth will be hoping and praying that her 26 year old daughter will be selected from the eight International Roses and will be going to Tralee.

This is the first time in ten years since Melbourne entered into the Rose of Tralee Festival and it’s also the first time for an Edenderry born girl to get the chance to take the coveted Crown.

Claire will be flying in from Melbourne to Dublin on Wednesday, 30th May.

It’s expected that a huge crowd of well-wishers from Edenderry will be awaiting her arrival at the Airport.
