Mini marathon success

Mini marathon success

Congratulations to Maria and Eimear Smith on completing the Dublin woman’s10Km mini marathon. Both girls ran the race on the bank holiday and raised money for the Kilcullen scout group. A great feat and much appreciated funds for the scouts.

Football fun

Kilcullen pubs are starting the football fun with free food offers, drinks promotion, raffles, music to celebrate Ireland’s inevitable wins and much more why not join up with a group of friends and watch the live matches in one of Kilcullen many wonderful pubs.

Happy birthday

Gretta Swaine, Beaver leader in the Kilcullen scout group, is wished a very happy 4th birthday by friends, family and fellow scouters.

Open evening

Kilcullen opened its doors last Friday to show off its local clubs, groups and societies. Kilcullen 2017 had asked all clubs and groups to participate in the event as one of the key recommendations from the recently published Development Plan for Kilcullen included the need for Sports Clubs and Groups to find ways of including more local people in their work. Decade of love

Congratulations to Elaine and Alan Haslam, 10 years married, with love and best wishes from all your school friends.

Art Camp

Workshops for 5 to 12 year olds will be held with a qualified artist in the Kilcullen community centre from July 9 to 13 and 16 to 20. For more details or to book a place call 087 9729611.

Summer Soccer

Summer Soccer School for boys and girls aged 6 to 14 years will be held in the Kilcullen community centre from July 9 to 13 and 16 to 20. Also camps for goalkeepers. Book now at or on 1890 653 653.

Hillbilly Festival

The Hillbilly Festival begins on Friday June 22 in Poulaphouca House Hotel Blessington with the talented Wee Amigos and a host of local talent to get us revved up for the weekend. Saturday 23 there is great music and dancing in the Village of Ballyknockan. The Hillbilly vintage vehicle run and Blessington street parade will take place on Sunday June 24. All vehicles welcome to register at Carrig Lacken Blessington Co Wicklow before 11.30am. Join the colourful Blessington Street parade which includes the Mounted Gardai, hunt club, local clubs and businesses. Return to the venue in Lacken for open fire cooked colcannon and spit roast pig. The children can enjoy the family fun side with go karts, bouncy castle creche area, archery and much more. The adults can enjoy the displays of crafts, stone mason, blacksmith, home baking, tractor building and a selection of music and dancing on stage. The night ends in Ballyknockan with music by After Dark.

Students, teachers, friends and family from St Joseph’s N.S, Halverstown especially the Junior Infants send their love and best regards to their teacher Mrs Brown and wish her a speedy recovery and hope she’s back up and running very soon.
