Table quiz and auction

Everyone loves a Table Quiz and this Friday night, June 15, the Annual Table Quiz will be held in O’Brien’s Lounge, Timolin at 8.30pm. It is conjunction with The Moone Kilomarathon and both events combine in aid of Crumlin Childrens’ Hospital. Table of four is €40 on the night. There will be cash prizes for winners and runners-up, a raffle for a host of prizes and an auction including an oil painting, sheep or cattle drench, lady’s handbag, car seat covers, tool bag and various vouchers. Donations for the auction which are still coming in. So if you would like to donate there is still time, contact Tony on 0872645882. Good luck to the camogie team who meet old rivals Celbridge in the Shield Final on Sunday June 17 in Moorfield in what promises to be an enthralling encounter.

Newtown Rovers

The first team travelled to Maynooth on Sunday June 3 and ran out 4 - 3 winners with 2 goals coming from debutant Michael Treacy and a goal a piece from Tom Cleary and Owen Cox.

The Seconds travelled to Naas and were held to a 1 - 1 draw with Rovers goal coming from Inform striker Patrick Mulhall for his 3rd goal in 2 games. There will be no games for the next two Sundays due to Irelands involvement in the Europeans Championship.

The Underage continues each and every Saturday at Booleigh Cross from 2.30 to 4 pm. Boys/girls between the ages of 6 and 16 living in the Booleigh, Nurney, Kildoon and Narraghmore area are invited to attend. St Laurence’s GAA Centre hosts a badminton club. Practice Sessions are held at the following times - Adults - Tuesday 8-10pm, and Friday 8-10pm. The Junior Club is on Saturday from 10 - 12pm. New Members are always welcome, just turn up on any of the times noted above. We try cater for all players, either social or competitive as there are 4 courts available for playing. St Laurence’s are the current Leinster Champions at grade 5 level.

Whist drive

The fund-raising whist continues in Molly O’Looney’s, Narraghmore every Wednesday evening commencing at 8.30pm. All card players welcome.

Larries GFC

St Laurence’s Underage are playing challenge games over the coming weeks in preparation for the second phase of the Go games in July. Full schedule to follow check out all updates on our website

The U14’s league is underway and St Laurence’s have two teams participating.

St Laurence’s Summer Camp will take place from 9- 13th July, 10am to 2.30pm. Prices €45 for the first child and €40 for each subsequent child in a family. Registration forms are available from any committee member or in the clubhouse.

The Senior C team won their tenth league game against Rathagan. The seniors will face Round Towers in the next round of the Championship.

Feile fixtures

St Laurence’s are in Group C with Kerry, Tullamore and the host club Laois and Sarsfields.

22/06/12 St Laurences -v- Laois Sarsfields in Mountmellick at 2pm. 23/06/12 St Laurences -v- Tullamore in Tullamore at 11am. 23/06/12 St Laurences -v- Kerry in Tullamore at 12.30.

The winner of this group will progress to the semi-final in Mountmellick on June 23 at 6.30pm.

Lotto numbers

This week’s lotto numbers were 25, 30 and 34. There was no jackpot winner; next week’s jackpot is €2,000. The €20 winners were Liam Donovan, Serena Mc Mullen, Marian O’Brien, Kilmead dance school and Michael Byrne.

This year the Ballitore Pilgrimage will be taking in the Shrines of Northern Italy leaving on September 25 to 2nd October. There are a few seats still available. The cost is €1,085. The Spiritual Director is Rev. Fr. Frank McEvoy PP. Single room supplement is €245.
