Naas and Kill Parishes Cemetery Mass on will take place at St. Corban’s Cemetery, Naas, on Wednesday August 15, 2012 at 7.30pm.
Two Mile House Parish Cemetery Mass will take place on Sunday July 8 2012 at 11am in St. Peter’s Church graveyard.

Family fun day at Naas GAA
Everyone is invited to the Family Fun Day and Cow Dung Drop at Naas GAA on Saturday June 16 from 4-8pm. This promises to be a great day with fun for all the family! Admission is free and there will be face painting, novelty events including mentor dunk, big buzzer, puck fada, penalty shoot out, egg and spoon races, sack races, hoops, barbeque, and much more. The Cow Dung Drop featuring Betsy the Cow is the 2012 Camogie Feile and Development fundraiser.
This event is open to everyone in the town, and it would be great to see a big turn out.
Naas GAA news
The senior hurlers had a great win over Coill Dubh in their league game winning by a single point. They play their final league game on Tuesday 12 v Leixlip.
Hard luck to the Senior footballers who were defeated by St. Laurences in the league game. Naas 0.07 St. Laurences 2.10.
The senior camogie team will play Celbridge in the division 2 shield final next weekend. Best of luck to all involved.
Hard luck to the U14 ladies football team who were beaten by Monastrevin in the division 3 league final. The team put in a great performance on the day.
There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot on June 7. Numbers drawn were 4, 10, 16 and 18. Next week’s jackpot is €2,350.
50th International Eucharistic Congress
If you are going to the Statio Orbis in Croke Park on Sunday June 17, and booked your ticket through the Parish Office, tickets are now available for collection in the Parish Office, Sallins Road.
The flag flying at Our Lady and St. David’s Church dates back to the
1932 Congress held in Dublin. It was kindly donated by Mary Mahon.
Unfortunately, as is the case outside most churches and cemeteries around the county, there have had a number of robberies in and around the church in Two-Mile-House in recent times. It is a reminder to us all to be vigilant and not to leave valuables visible in vehicles. If anyone sees any suspicious activity, it should be reported to the Gardaí.
Foroige Naas, a group for young teenagers, are holding a bakesale to raise funds for McAuley Place. The bakesale will take place in Naas Community Centre and will run from 10.30am to 1.30pm on Sunday June 17. All are welcome. Please support.

Congratulations to the U13 boys of Two-Mile-House who won the Football County Final on Tuesday. Well done to the girls who made it to the final and put up a great display on the day. Both teams did their families, school and parish proud. Well done boys and girls!

Sincere thanks to all volunteer parishioners and to members of Naas Tidy Towns who did a wonderful job on Ballycane Church grounds and surrounds last Wednesday evening.
Over forty people turned up for the clean-up, and it was most encouraging to see such community spirit and involvement. Well done and thank you to all concerned.

Naas Library is holding an information talk by Dr. Aughney on bats in County Kildare on Tuesday 12th June, at 8pm. It will be followed by a walk along the canal. All welcome.
The death occurred unexpectedly on Friday June 1, of Kathleen Kearns of Johnstown, Naas. Funeral was to the Augustinian Priory, John’s Lane, Thomas Street with funeral on Wednesday morning to Glasnevin Cemetery.
May she rest in peace.
Project leaders to reunite
Were you a leader in the Naas Summer Project between 1981 and 1996?
The Summer Project Leaders Reunion takes place on Saturday June 30 at 7pm in Osprey Hotel to include a meal, old photographs, DVD from the past and lots of old faces of course. Tickets are E30 each. For further information follow their page on face book.

Song writing workshop for teenagers
A free four week songwriting workshop for teenagers (12 - 16 year olds) is taking place in Naas Library on Tuesday mornings during June and July. The first workshop is taking place on Tuesday June 26 from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Clane Musical Academy bring the musical adaptation of the famous Charles Dickens work Oliver Twist to the Moat Theatre, Naas. Oliver takes to the stage from Monday 18 to Thursday 21 June.
Midlands Support Group
The Midlands Support Group for family and friends affected by suicide is a new confidential support group, established in conjunction with HOPE(D). The group welcomes people from all areas in Kildare. They meet the first Wednesday of each month at the Aras Building (beside
Fas) Main Street, Newbridge at 8pm. The group aims to connect with people where members can share experiences, advice or just listen providing sympathetic understanding towards one another. People who have lost a loved one to suicide and would like to connect with others who have gone through the same experience are most welcome to come along. Tee off for Church
The Naas Parish Golf Classic in aid of Our Lady and St. David’s Church Restoration Fund tees off on Monday, June 18, at Craddockstown Golf Club. It is a four person team event / scramble and the entry fee, including meal, is E300 per team for the early bird tee time, 8am - noon, and E400 per team for tee time 2 - 4 pm.

The Parish Golf Classic offers a great opportunity to help raise funds for the impending restoration work that needs to be carried out on the Church of Our Lady and St. David, Sallins’ Road. Craddockstown Golf Course have generously provided the course free of charge for the event.
Family events at the library
Several free events are taking place in Naas Library for Family Week 2012, from Tuesday 19 to Saturday 23 June. The events kick off with Children’s Folk Songs With Uncle Dan From The Twitters on Tuesday June 19 at 11am to 12.
Storyteller Niall De Burca will entertain on Tuesday June 19 from 6.30 to 7.30pm and there will be a drama performance of ‘Playing To Reach The Stars including clown, puppet and picture book on Friday June 22 from 11 to 12.30pm.
An Interactive Puppet Show and Storytelling is on Saturday June 23 from 2.30 to 3.30 pm.

Naas Care of the Aged Centre
The Care of the Aged Centre, Newbridge Road, Naas, is very active in caring for the elderly and organises outings, parties and trips. They also run whist, bowls and bingo on different nights of the week.
