In conjunction with Tidy Towns groups in North Kildare and TÍr na Móna, Clane Tidy Towns will hold their Spring Clean Launch on Saturday 31st March. People can meet at the Abbey on Main Street at 10.00am. Clane Tidy Towns will provide the tools but need your help to get the year off to a great start. New helpers and ideas are always welcome. Alternatively Resident’s associations can concentrate on cleaning out the ditches and roadsides adjacent to their estates. Resident Associations can then contact Cllr. Pádraig McEvoy on 086 8658262 to organise disposal of the rubbish collected from the ditches. Tuesday evening clean-ups will re-commence on Tuesday 10th April at 7.00pm meeting at the Abbey, Main Street. Feel free to come along and give a hand any Tuesday evening.
Rehearsals for the John B. Keane play ‘Big Maggie‘ are in the final stages. Sadie O’Reilly as director will ensure that the strong cast Elaine Moore-O’Donohoe ( Maggie Polpin), Chloe Duggan (Gert Polpin), Michelle Flannery (Kate Polpin), Vinny O’Shaughnessy (Maurice Polpin), Padraic O’Neill (Mick Polpin), Brian Moran (Teddy Heelin), Sarah Houlihan (Mary Madden), Áine Grace (Mrs Madden), Val Brennan (Mr Byrne), Andy Kelly (old man) and Margaret Collins (old woman) transform the Abbey stage to the Poplin Grocery store. Tickets for ‘Big Maggie’ which will be staged in the Abbey from Wednesday 11th to Saturday 14th April are now on sale at Marron’s Pharmacy, Clane or by contacting Anne Noonan at 087-6897376.

White Collar Boxing Returns
The Annual White Collar Boxing Fight Night takes place in the club on Sat 21st April. The lads are commencing training this week and if last year is to go by the standard is very high & a great night was had by all!
A variety play night in conjunction with the Boys School, Girls School and Clane GAA will take place on Friday 20th April in the club. If the play that was held before Christmas is anything to go by, this promises to be a night not to be missed. There was no winner of the Lotto Jackpot worth €4,050 on 18th March. The numbers drawn were 8, 10, 17 & 25. Congratulations to the €25 winners: Sandra Dooley, Amanda Fanning, Tony Bardon & Jacinta Lally. The jackpot for Sunday 26th March is €4,200 and tickets cost €2. All Club members are reminded that membership is now due for 2012. The Tiny Tots football is in the Scoil Mhuire Community School Hall on Sat 4th February at10.30am and will continue every Saturday morning whilst the underage hurling is up in Clongowes on a Wednesday night - All new players are welcome to come down. We would encourage all the managers to send us in match reports as we cannot cover all games – the players would love to see their names in the papers etc.
