Disqualified driver stopped in Kildare

The driver was recently stopped in Clane by Naas Roads Policing Unit

Naas Roads Policing Unit were on patrol in Clane recently when they stopped a suspicious vehicle.

The driver was insured to drive the vehicle – but was disqualified from driving due to an accumulation of penalty points.

The vehicle was seized, the driver was arrested and charged, and will now face the courts.

A garda spokesperson said of the offence: “Being insured does not give you a licence to drive when you are disqualified.

“If you’re disqualified — don’t drive. There are no excuses.”
