Deaths in Kildare - March 9, 2018

Niall (Mucles) Farrell – O' Neill Park, Maynooth

March 8 2018, peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown. Pre-deceased by his loving father Nicholas and infant brother Eamonn. Deeply and deservedly regretted by his loving mother Bridget (Tosheen), brothers Nicky, Brendan, Fergal, Dessie and Barry, Sisters, Ronnie, Mary, Yvonne and Breda, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and very wide circle of friends. Rest In Peace. Reposing at Reilly's Funeral Home, Leinster St., Maynooth on Sunday (March 11) from 3-8pm, with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Monday (March 12) from his residence in O' Neill Park, Maynooth at 11.15 am to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Maynooth for 12 noon funeral mass, followed by burial in Laraghbryan cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown. Donation box in church.

 

Mervyn Black – Firmount, Clane, Kildare

March 6 2018, peacefully at Mount Pleasant Lodge Nursing Home, Kilcock, surrounded by his loved ones. He will be sadly missed by his wife Sally Ann, daughters Jenny, Evanne, Amanda and Katie, their partners, grandchildren Annabel and Josh, sister Eileen, brothers Albert and Ken, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends. Reposing on Thursday evening, March 8, at his home from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Service on Friday morning, March 9 at 11.30 in St Michael’s and All Angels Church, Millicent, Clane followed by burial in adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please.

 

Angela (Angel) Bernnan (née Grant) – Leixlip / Dundalk, Louth

March 7 2018 (peacefully) in her 100th year and in the loving care of the staff at Ryevale Nursing Home, Leixlip, after a short illness borne with courage and dignity. Predeceased by her husband Paddy and daughter Constance (Connie). Sadly missed by her loving daughter Deirdre, son-in-law Alo, sons Jim and Pat, daughter-in-law Eileen, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Reposing at Cunningham's Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Lucan on (Friday March 9) evening from 6.30pm to 8.00pm. Removal to the Church of St. Charles Borromeo, Confey, Leixlip on (Saturday morning March 10) arriving for Requiem Mass at 11.00am followed by burial in Glasnevin Cemetery (Old side). Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to a charity of your choice.

 

Tony Byrne – Wheatfield, Ardclough

March 7 2018, peacefully at his residence, beloved husband of the recently deceased Joan, deeply regretted by his loving sons Marcus & Brendan, daughters-in-law Deirdre & Fiona, grandchildren, brothers Billy & Desmond, sisters Rosie & Vera, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours & friends. Reposing at Reilly's Funeral Home, Woods House, Clane on Saturday (March 10) from 4pm to 8pm, with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Sunday (March 11) at 8.45am to arrive in St. Anne's Church, Ardclough for 9.30am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Whitechurch Cemetery.

 

Darren Fitzpatrick – Gillardstown, Collinstown, Westmeath / Kildare Town

March 6 2018, at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar. Predeceased by his mother Maria (nee Hickey, Kildare Town). He will be sadly missed by his father Kevin, brothers Niall, Eric and Sean, grandparents James and Helen, also Catherine and Rachel and his girlfriend Chloe, uncles, aunts, cousins, neighbours and many many friends. Reposing at his home on Saturday, March 10, from 2pm with prayers at 8.30pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday (March 11) in St. Mary's Church, Collinstown at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in local cemetery. House private Sunday morning please. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Pieta House.

 

Carmel Sweeney (née Phelan) – Orchard Park, The Curragh

March 8 2018 (peacefully) in the loving care of the nurses and staff of St. Brigid’s Hospice, Moore Abbey. Sadly missed by her husband Tom, daughter Lisa, sons PJ, Thomas and David, and their partners, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, relatives and friends. Reposing at her home on Friday (March 9) from 3pm with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning (March 10) at 10.30am to arrive at St. Brigid’s Church, The Curragh for Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Holy Cross Cemetery, Suncroft. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Friends of St. Brigid’s Hospice, Moore Abbey. Donations box in Church.
