Each driver faces a €160 Fixed Charge Penalty Notice and three penalty points
Kildare gardaí detected several speeding motorists between Naas and Newbridge earlier today, which is also National Slow Down Day.
According to the official An Garda Síochána Kildare page on Facebook: “Newbridge gardaí conducted a speed check this morning on the Newhall Road (Naas Road), between Newbridge and Naas, where the speed limit is 80 kilometres per hour (km/h).
“Several motorists were detected exceeding the speed limit; each driver faces a €160 Fixed Charge Penalty Notice and three penalty points.”
The account also stressed: “An 80km/h limit is not a target, it is a maximum speed.”
Lastly, it called on drivers to ‘slow down’ and ‘arrive alive’.
