The incident occurred in Clane

Gardaí based in County Kildare are ‘making significant progress’ in an assault investigation.

That’s according to Garda Brian Carroll, who made the comments during a recent guest appearance on KFM.

Last month, he told KFM of an assault incident which occurred in the Alexandra Walk region of Clane.

He explained that on the evening of August 20 last, a large group of uninvited people turned up to the birthday celebrations, gardaí were called and requested the uninvited people to leave the area.

Gda Carroll added: “While this was happening, one young male was chased by the group of up to 15 youths and assaulted.”

And now, Gda Carroll has offered more detail about the incident.

This time, he told host Hannah Kelly that two youths sustained injuries from the assault, and that it involved ‘a group of up to 10 people’.

He also said that while gardaí ‘are making significant progress in the investigation’ and are ‘following a definite line of enquiry’, he still encouraged anyone who has information relating to the crime to contact Clane Garda Station on 045 868 262.
