IRELAND REACHING OUT
Anne Gaynor writes “Following the visit of Henry Healy to Molly O’Looneys on Thursday 25 October a follow up meeting was held on 4th November when a great interest was shown in local history, old photos of the parish and surrounding areas. Interest was also shown in getting this information about Narraghmore parish and surrounding areas on Ireland Reaching Out website up and running. It is hoped that getting this web site up and running will increase the social and economic prosperity to areas which are not generally labelled among the main tourists attractions. Melanie Treacy has undertaken to get the site up and running and has taken on the task of inputting relevant information onto the Narraghmore web site. The web site can be found by logging onto Ireland Reaching Out and clicking onto ‘Find YOUR Parish’. This brings you into a list of ‘parishes’ in Kildare. Anyone interested in helping run the site or who is eager to help with with local history, places of interest, old photos etc. or researching information that can be entered onto the web site is very welcome to join us. If anyone is interested in taking on another ‘parish’ site is also welcome to the next meeting. Ireland Reaching Out are looking to help and train local people in communities to proactively research, reach out and contact their dispora.
It was decided to hold meetings on the 1st Thursday of each month at Molly O’Looneys Narraghmore at 8pm. The next meeting will take place in Molly O’Looney’s on Monday December 3rd at 8pm. All welcome.

U’17’s - Newbridge Town 4 - Mill 5
Mill Celtic came out 5- 4 on top In a pulsating game against a very good Newbridge Town side at Ballttore on Saturday November 3. Newbridge Town raced in into an early 2 nil lead before Garry Lambe pulled a goal back. Adam Meeenehan made it two all at half time. Meenehan put Mill 3 -2 up at the start of the second half before a quick fire double put Newbridge Town 4 – 3 ahead.
With ten minutes to go Meenehan equalised. With time almost up a quick throw in by Ryan Fenner sent Meenehan away and he cooly slotted home the winner. This was a great team performance which must go down as one of the best games of the season. Outstanding for Mill on the day were Brandon O’ Rourke at centre back, Ryan Fenner mid field and Adam Meenehan for his four goals salvo up front.
