IRELAND REACHING OUT PROGAMME
Anne Gaynor tells me she has arranged a meeting locally in Molly O’Looneys Narraghmore for Thursday next the 25th October. Henry Healy, Obama’s cousin will be in Narraghmore as part of the Ireland Reaching Out programme. The Ireland Reaching Out programme “is a simple idea, Reverse Genealogy, Instead of waiting for people of Irish decent to return to Ireland to trace their roots, we reverse the process. This involves local communities largely through volunteer effort and with the support of Ireland XO, tracing people who left their parishes and seeking to find them or their living descendants worldwide. The parish then reaches out and invites them to become part of a new extended global community which will open up new possibilities and opportunity for social cultural and economic development. Anne is hoping for a good turnout on the night.
