The next meeting of the Castledermot History Group takes place to-night Tuesday October 30th in the Community Centre at 8pm. Speaker is Damian Shiels, Military Historian. Entry €2, members free. Everyone welcome. The Castledermot Local History Group are looking for copies of vintage photographs from around Castledermot and its surrounding town-lands. We are looking for images of farming such as harvesting, thrashing and especially The Fair Days in Castledermot. Other images that we are looking for include sporting, religious and school days. We would be grateful for any copies that can be sent to the History Group. These copies can be sent to email@example.com or brought to our next meeting in September. These photos will help the History Group to build up a record of life in the town and town-lands for our project for the Teach Diarmada Centre. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us on the e-mail address given.
