Speakers included Editor of the Irish Runner and Mr. Gerry Culley. Medical Research Cebtre, Crumlin Hospital. Crumlin Hospital has benefited by the running of this event for the last three years, to-date receiving €21,500, and Mr. Culley was very grateful for our efforts as they are now building two new wings to Crumlin Hospital for the Cancer patients to supply them with single cubicles ,they require €400,000 this year and next year. Tony O’Donoghue, Chairman of the Race committee said Barrettstown would be included in our fund-raising this year.

Mr. Greally complimented the committee on the excellent course, nice and flat and the possibility of world record recognition for distance this year. Some great suggestions from the floor, one being a relay of four runners each to cover 4 miles. We also have a new course for the 10K which will take in the circuit of the townlands of Belan. We will also include a 4.5K almst 3 miles for walkers and joggers and juvenile runners. All three races start and finish in Moone Village. This years event will be held on Saturday September 28th at 10am.

Tony thanked everyone for coming and he deeply regretted that a small number of runners were directed incorrectly by an individual who had no connection what so ever with the Race, and stressed that this would not happen again.

The next committee meeting will take place on Monday 25th March at 8pm in Paddy O’Brien’s in Timolin.
