Share a Break Project is a joint initiative between Kare and Muiriosa Foundation funded by National Lottery and HSE. The Project organises families to look after adults with intellectual disabilities for a short break.

There are lots of adults with an intellectual disability who would benefit from regular short breaks.

Have you the time to offer short breaks to someone in your home for mid-week and weekend overnight breaks (for approximately twenty four nights per year)?

You don’t need a qualification just energy, commitment and the desire to support a person with a disability in your community.

Information and support are provided and you will be paid an allowance.

We are hosting an Information Evening on Tuesday April 16 from 7pm until 8.30 pm in the KARE McMahon Centre Kilcullen.

If you are interested in this project and attending the information evening please contact one of the following persons: Christina Humphreys, Social Worker, Muiriosa Foundation tel. 045 532266 or Rosemary Keenan, Social Worker, Kare McMahon Centre , Kilcullen tel. 045 480200.
