BME Hollywood Boxing Club
The BME Hollywood Boxing Club had a very successful trip to famous Mosside boxing club in Manchester recently. Fourteen boxers travelled to spar and train in the Mosside Club under the supervision of English coach, Michael (Mike) Dillon and Nigel Travis. Nigel was English ABA Champion and a top amateur before he became chief sparring partner for Amir Khan.
The local lads had plenty of top class spars on the Saturday against a variety of UK boxers and hopefully, they gained some good experience. Our local boxers were then brought on a tour of the famous Old Trafford football grounds and on then to the famous Trafford Shopping Centre, one of the biggest in Europe. The club would like to thank MIcke Dillon (Manchester coach) for a top class trip, one that everyone will remember.
The club would like to thank their own boxers who behaved impeccably and were a credit to their parents and club. Noel Farrell, a coach wth Ballymore Hollywood Club made it possible for the trip to take place as is a cousin of Mike’s. This will now become an annual event with BMEHOllywood Club travelling to Manchester and the Manchester club making the return visit.. The club is hosting a major boxing tournament in Hollywood Community Cehntre on 16th February at 8pm.
