Final Countdown for Spring

As we approach Spring 2013 the members of Clane Musical Society are in the final weeks of preparation for their musical concert aptly named ‘Sing into Spring’.   The societies singing, dancing and comedy talent will be unveiled in the Westgrove Hotel, Clane on Friday 8th February at 8pm where for one night, great entertainment is guaranteed.   With pieces from Oliver, Les Miserables, Mama Mia, Cabaret and many more musicals this Clane Musical society concert will feature many familiar faces - Edel Marron, Pamela Killick, Brendan Farrell, Elaine Moore-O’Donohoe, Fiona White , Arthur McGauran, David McGauran and many more. Tickets for this wonderful musical bouquet  ‘Sing into Spring’ are available in Marron’s Pharmacy in Clane  or by contacting Anne Noonan on 087-6897376.  Tickets will also be available at the door.

A Happy New Year from Clane Community Council.

As you may know, this coming Monday, January 28th, your Community Council holds its AGM at 8pm in The Abbey, Clane.  2013 is a special year for Clane Community Council. It celebrates its 40th Anniversary - it was founded in 1973. At the AGM you will be able to learn what we have been up to, hear our plans, and share your thoughts and suggestions. There will also be a motion on the night to adopt a new constitution. Both the existing and proposed constitutions are available on our website: The proposed constitution has been carefully reviewed and refined over the last twelve months by the current Council, through our regular Council meetings. We would be delighted to see you at the AGM. It is your Community Council and you would be very welcome.

Clane GAA

Registration (Membership) morning for 2013 takes place on Sunday 27th January from 12:30pm to 2:30pm in the club hall. All playing members and new members should ensure they register on the today. The following rates apply: Full Playing Membership €80, Full Membership €70, Family Membership €120, Juvenile €50, Social €35, Student/Apprentice €50. Remember if you are a player and have not paid by 31st March, you will not be covered by insurance. New members always welcome. Bingo has returned to Clane GAA after a number of years on Tuesday nights in the club @ 8.30pm. The Jackpot is now over €1,950 and there will also be many Cash Prizes each week.

Lotto Results for Sunday 20th January: Jackpot €10,650. Numbers: 1, 20, 21 and 26. No Winner. €25 winners drawn on the night: Cribbin Family L.B, Mag Gill, Lilly Moore and Lilly Moore. Jackpot on 28th January €10,800. Tickets cost €2 or 3 for €5.

All managers of teams should now have received the pitch training timetable by e-mail – can all teams please adhere to the timetable as space is limited. If a team want to change training times etc, a weeks’ notice must be provided. Underage football and hurling training will be resuming shortly – managers will be in contact with players. If there are any new players who would like to play, please contact the club after 4pm on 045-868577 and the lads will put you in the right direction.
