The Irish Cancer Society has thanked all who supported its Daffodil Day fundraiser last March, and issued an appeal for those with funds still to lodge to pay them into its accounts.
Last year, €164,245 was raised in Kildare for the cancer charity during the 2011 Daffodil Day.
According to the society, last year it provided 309 support calls to the National Cancer Helpline from people in Kildare, out of a total of 22,120 callers nationally.
It provided 355 nights of nursing care to families in Kildare, plus €62,400 worth of financial aid to people in the county. It also distributed 12,724 booklets and factsheets on cancer to people in Kildare.
