Youth Hub Coordinator appointed

A major step forward in the development of a new County Youth Facility for Co Kildare has taken place with the appointment of a Development Manager. Last month the steering committee for the project welcomed Sean Cooke an experienced project manager with expertise in establishing and running community and youth facilities. The facility will be located in Kildare Town where a local youth support group consisting of many youth groups and services in the Town have over the years advocated for the development of a central youth facility and “when the Parish made available the now unused St Joseph’s Academy for youth activities it seemed an ideal location and a great opportunity to realise our ambition”, said Eoghan Doyle of the local support group. With the support of the Integrated Services Programme (ISP) the project has broaden its horizons to fulfil a county wide brief. The next couple of months will see the finished re-design in place with the assistance of young people. “It is then that we have to match the ambition to what resources are available,” said Sean Cooke.

The CYMS AGM is on February 19 at 8pm in the hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.
