January 31st was a sad day for Ireland when 95 Garda Stations were closed, one of them the Garda Station in Ballytore., which closed its doors on January 25th. This is a major loss to the community and environs. We would like to thank Garda Muldowney and retired Garda Brendan Gaynor for all their care and dedication to the community over the years, both carried out their duties with such immaculate professionalism. We are told that Garda Muldowney will continue to work with the local community, supported by gardai from Athy, and Clinics will be arranged periodically in the library in Ballytore. The community will be informed at local level regarding the dates and times of the clinics. Athy Garda Station can be contacted at 059 8634210.
