The Monasterevin GFC senior teams great run came to an end on Sunday last in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick losing out to Finuge of Kerry in a hard fought tough battle.

This panel of players, Kildare Intermediate and Leinster Champions have trained hard, worked tirelessly and given their all for their club colours this year. Their dedication, commitment, and determination has been an inspiration to all players in the club from the very young to the champions of old. They are a credit not only to the club but to the community and their families also. They have lifted both club and community in the past year through their success.

Monasterevin GFC would like to thank this exceptional group of lads for all their efforts and dedication. Pascal Kelleghan and the management team of Laz Molloy , Denis Lawless , Paddy Havens and Stephen McLoughlin have done excepional work through their involvement with this team in the past year and no doubt will continue to have success in the coming season.

The support for the whole club throughout the past year has been immense, and has given every team in the club a huge boost in every game. It is invaluable so huge thanks to all supporters at all levels.

Come help the club celebrate a monumentous year. The club would like to congratulate Aine Nash on being appointed captain of the county U/14 squad for the coming year. We would like to wish her and Claire Melia the best of luck in the coming year on the county team and also the best of luck to Julia Marron, Alannah McLoughlin and Shannon Grant.


Congratulations to Supermacs Junction 14 who won the best Franchisee of the Year award at the Inaugural Supermacs award night held on 29 January in Castletroy Hotel, Limerick. Well done to all. Some weeks ago Spar.Junction 14 won The Shelf life Forecourt Retailer of the Year 2012 Gold category and also the Newcomer of the Year award. Junction 14 is in operation over a year and is now a very busy business providing over 100 jobs in the community.


A public meeting and information on propety tax, septic tanks and water charges will be held in the Cross Keys, Kildangan on Wednesday 6 February 2013 at 8.00pm. There will be a Question & Answer session.All welcome. Enquiries to 0862656897.

Fun Hunt

Monasterevin Horse & Pony club are running a Fun Hunt on Sunday 24 February at 1.30pm in Monasterevin for Rhianin. (This little boy has been diagonised with a serious illness) Monster Auction, Raffle ,Music,Food and Beverages will be served after the Hunt. St Patricks Day Parade

Meeting to make arrangements for this years parade will be held in the Day Care Centre on Thursday 7 February at 8.30pm.The parade just does not happen on the day it takes work and time, if you have a few hours of your time to give please come to this meeting.

Parish Novena

The Parish Novena will begin on Wednesday 13 February and run on the next five Wednesdays of Lent at 7.30pm.Rosary at 7.10pm.The Theme is Finding Hope through Faith. The guest speaker on 13 Feb will be Richard Moore Founder of Crossfire.
