A remembrance service and carol singing will take place at St Patrick’s Church on December 9 at 5pm. This is the “Remembering a Loved One at Christmas” event which has been very successful over the last three years. It is very easy to participate. Just place the name of your deceased loved one in an envelope with a 5 euro offering, mark the envelope “Remembering a Loved One at Christmas” and put it in the drop box at Celbridge Credit Union or in the collection basket in the church. Your offering will sponsor a Christmas tree light and will then go to support the work of St Brigid’s Hospice. More details are available at 087-9903884.

Next Taize Prayer will take place in Wellsprings Centre on Friday, December 14. at 8pm.
There will also be an evening of music, reflection and prayer at the Centre on December 18 at 8pm. This will celebrate the O Antiphons and will be led by Sr. Moira Bergin, RSM from the National Centre for Liturgy. In the Catholic tradition, the O Antiphons are traditionally sung or recited at evening prayers in late Advent from December 17 to December 23 inclusive.
The Mill Sports Centre has announced its arrangement of opening hours over the coming Christmas period. Limited opening hours apply on Christmas Eve and the Sports Centre will close at 2pm for the Christmas break. On December 24 and 25 the premises will remain closed. On Thursday December 27 opening times will be from 10am-2pm with normal hours on the following days. The Sports Centre will be closed all day on January 1. Normal opening hours will apply once again from January 2 onwards.
The Sports Centre offers individually tailored training programmes, Sauna and Steam Rooms, Nutritional advice, supervised workouts Personal Training Extensive Olympic Free Weights, Dumb-bells Machines Classes: Pilates, Yoga, Circuit Training, Teachers Classes, Step and Fit-ball classes as well as Indoor Sports.

Celbridge Christian Church holds a mid-week service each Wednesday night at 7.30pm at unit 4 Celbridge Industrial Estate, which is behind Tesco’s. This is a non-denominational Christian church Irish in style, but drawn from many nations. Children are catered for during the service, so no need for a babysitter!
The Library will be hosting an Art Exhibition with Kay O’ Rourke
from December 6 to December 15 during library opening times. Admission is free.
LIAM LAWTON CONCERT
Liam Lawton will be appearing at a special concert in St Patrick’s Church, Celbridge on Sunday December 23. Doors will be open at 7.30pm for the performance beginning at 8pm. Special guests will include Mary Flynn, (Soprano) and Denise Kelly (Harpist). The concert is in aid of Celbridge and Straffan Parish, the Irish Hospice Foundation and Breast Cancer Ireland.
