AS the roll out of new signage was carried out through out Kildare, two new road signs in Allenwood South caused some local disquiet, writes Niamh O’Donoghue.
The roads previously had no name and locals were asked their opinion of what they should be called.
However, not everyone was happy with the outcome.
Cllr. Fiona O’Loughlin, who has been liaising with the residents said; “Personally I think it is a good thing to have names on these roads because it makes it easier for the emergency services and the gardai to find people.
“I put my hands up and admit there should have been more consultation on the matter,” she said.
Cllr. O’Loughlin said she had spoken to a number of people in the area but did not get to everyone.
She said she was working to resolve the issue.
