Celebrate International Women’s Day at Newbridge library

A celebration of International Women’s Day 2012 will take place in Newbridge on the evening of Monday, March 5 next at Newbridge Parish Centre at 7.30pm.

A celebration of International Women’s Day 2012 will take place in Newbridge on the evening of Monday, March 5 next at Newbridge Parish Centre at 7.30pm.

The event which is hosted by Network Kildare will mark the United Nations designated day Thursday, March 8 for Women’s Rights and International Peace.

The day is celebrated worldwide to inspire women to celebrate their achievements.

“This event is held annually by Network Kildare to acknowledge the significant contribution women make on a voluntary basis to the community sector countywide,” said Nora O’Hanlon, Network Kildare Management Committee.

“The evening will be an opportunity for women from throughout Kildare to get together and enjoy a celebration of their accomplishments. Our Guest Speaker is Dr Fergus Heffernan who will give a presentation titled ’Manage Your Life by Managing Your Mind’ through Mindfulness & Spirituality. Life can be relentless, frantic and exhausting – but does it have to be this way. Fergus has worked in all five continents of the world, working with groups who live and survive in areas of high psychological stress. He is a visiting Professor at Columbia University New York and Boston University.”
