A public meeting will be held in Monasterevan Community Centre on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 8pm to allow the general public to question the eight candidates running in the local elections in May.

“All eight candidates have kindly accepted the invitation to attend so it should give an excellent insight into what these candidates hope to achieve if elected,” said organiser Paul Brady.

The agenda on the night is that all candidates will get two minutes each to explain why they feel they are the right candidate to be elected. The local elections for Kildare County Council seats will be held on May 24 next.

“Then our facilitator Eugene Nolan will take questions from the floor. These questions can be for an individual candidate or all candidates. The questions have to be prompt and appropriate and our facilitator will manage this process to the best of his ability.”

The eight candidates for the area are Kevin Duffy and Mark Durkan, Fine Gael, Ann Connolly and Suzanne Doyle, Fianna Fail, Paul Hutchinson, Labour, Declan Crowe, Independent, Patricia Ryan, Sinn Fein and Colette Newman, The Green Party.
