Kildare Village to light up green for St Patrick's Day

Green for St Patrick's Day

This St Patrick’s Day, Kildare Village will light up green for the occasion as part of the Global Greening campaign devised by Tourism Ireland.

Not only will the local discount retail centre turn landmarks and facades green there will also be fun activities taking place to celebrate St Patrick throughout the weekend including transforming their Tourist Information Centre into a creative space for children with St Patrick’s Day themed arts and crafts workshops and a live DJ. Throughout the weekend guests can enjoy delicious green food, from donuts to green juices and there will be a giant shamrock photo opportunity fun for all the family.

This weekend will also see the launch of Kildare Village’s exciting new collaboration with Irish design company Stencilize, founded by Kildare native Aoife Hanrahan.

Largescale artworks of Irish wildlife by Stencilize will be free to view on the facades around Kildare Village from 14 March to the end of May and  their signature geometric aesthetic will take over the Village from windows, to bubble displays, to the LOVE and JOY signs dotted around the Village mall. Stencilize will showcase their interiors products in the VIP Lounge from 16 to 18 March also.

Stencilize approach well known wildlife from an exciting point of view and present the viewer with something new. The images are full of life; they are geometrical and contemporary and encapsulate the timeless living and breathing Irish landscape.
