A public consultation event will take place Kildare town’s Market Square tomorrow, Friday, February 1 from 11am to 3pm.

Funding has been awarded for the development of a Town Renewal Plan for Kildare town.  The plan seeks to identify a number of key projects for the town which will increase the town’s social and economic vibrancy, creating a sense of place while also identifying opportunities for increased visitor numbers.  Central to this plan will be the Market Square, where the consultation event is being launched.

Kildare County Council want to know what you think are the qualities and strengths of Kildare Town and what areas you that can be improved.

The public are invited along to a say on how Kildare town could be enhanced. Urban designers will be on hand to answer questions and people will be asked to fill out a survey on the day.

Surveys will also be handed out at Kildare Train Station for those commuters who may wish to contribute.

There will be five €100 vouchers up for grabs on the day.  All completed surveys will be entered into a draw with the five lucky winners to be announced.

There will be also for some light entertainment with a balloon modeler, town crier and stilt walkers.

Tea and coffee will be available in the Heritage Centre.
