Monasterevin road under examination by the council

Council to buy boarded up houses in Athy

A call for the council to confirm when the road at Ballyfarsoon in Monasterevin will be taken incharge was raised at this month's Athy area meeting, which was held on Monday, January 21, 2019.

Members heard that this is under examination by the Municipal District Engineer.

In accordance with current policy, the council must satisfy itself that the road is of general public use. This means that a public right of way exists and which serves at least five domestic dwellings and or commercial premises, and also consider the financial implications of taking the road in charge.
