A fourth class pupil of Churchtown National School has guessed the correct number of books in Athy Library winning €2,000 worth of book tokens for his school.

A competition was organised for all primary school students in the Athy district to win €2000 worth of book tokens for their school to celebrate the opening of the new Athy Library in the spring of 2018.

They simply had to answer one question - 'How many printed books are there in Athy Library?'

George Lawler, who is now in 4th Class in Churchtown N.S. won this wonderful prize for his school by correctly guessing 40,000.

The 3rd and 4th class students of Churchtown N.S. along with their principal Breda Fitzpatrick and some staff were presented with their prize in Athy Library on the 14 September by Mayor Seán Power.
