On Friday September 21 Kildare will come aliive for Culture Night, Ireland’s annual nocturnal cultural extravaganza.
Kildare County Council is extending the programme of events this year to include also Saturday 22 and Sunday 23
Over 90 free events will take place in county Kildare.
These include a celebration of 60 Years of Defence Forces Peacekeeping Operations in The Curragh; a Flash Mob in a secret venue of Kildare town and DE BRUIR Leather Studio open to the public for one night.
Other events include the opening of Ireland’s moving-image heritage repository by the Irish Film Archive at Maynooth University; Alibi, a live action role play experience to explore a fictional narrative set in the stunning Tea house of the Steam Museum in Straffan and Terry Moseley, a lifelong astronomer at the Bog of Allen Nature Centre for a fascinating talk and night sky observation of the moon
And a pre-event on Wednesday 19 , the launch of The Flight of the Wren, a novel by Kildare author Orla McAlinden in Kilcullen will open the long weekend of activities.
