Monasterevin march for UK's Alfie Evans

A march will take place in Monasterevin on Saturday to show support for the family of UK toddler Alfie Evans.

Alfie Evans hit the international headlines recently as his family were refused the right to take him to Italy for further treatment after his life support was turned off three days ago. His family are now looking to bring the sick toddler, who has a mysterious degenerative neurological condition, back home from the hospital and will meet with doctors today to discuss their options.

The march will start at 7.30pm from Jct 14 Mayfield, as far as Bank of Ireland on Main Street and back again.

Organisers are calling for people to join in and show their  support for Alfie and his family

“We're marching to show Alfie and his family we are supporting him even the smallest communities,” said a spokesperson.

“We are leaving from Jct 14 mayfield and walking to to main street and back again.”

All welcome
