€600k Investment for Kilmeague Wastewater treatment Plant

Kildare South TD Martin Heydon has welcomed confirmation from Irish Water of plans to invest €600,000 in an upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant in Kilmeague.

“Following a number of representations Irish Water have now confirmed that the contract has been awarded to upgrade the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Kilmeague.  This project represents an investment of €600,000 by Irish Water in the area and will improve the operation of the plant and provide a higher level of treatment.

“Planning permission for the upgrade is currently being finalised and it is expected that the works will commence on site in June or July 2018 and be completed in Q1 2019.

“These works when finalised will improve facilities for both current and future homes that will be built in the Kilmeague area.
