Road safety concerns on the old N7 road from Monasterevin to Kildare were raised at the Athy Municipal District meeting held earlier today.
Councillor Aoife Breslin tabled a motion to improve the safety of road users on the old N7 given ‘ongoing problems with traffic ignoring the right of way’.
“This road is a nightmare,” said Cllr Breslin who narrowly avoided an accident on the road recently.
“I have concerns that people are ignoring the right of way at Junction 14. There have been a number of near accidents here.”
The meeting heard that the area engineer will take a look at the signs there informing traffic of the right of way here.
The area engineer is coming out to look at this members were told.
