A milk delivery man from Athy, who was before Athy District court last week for speeding while disqualified, was fined €750 and disqualified from driving for two years.
Gerry Curry with an address listed as 16 Glen Bhearu, Cois Bhearu, Athy came to the attention of gardai on June 30, 2016 when he was driving at 95 KPH in a 60 zone.
The court heard that the Glanbia employee is a milk delivery man who due to an earlier disqualification had to rely another driver to do the rounds with him. However on this day he got an emergency call from the driver to say the car would not start. And the court heard that he he took a chance in deciding to drive that day.
He was fined €250 for speeding and €500 for driving while uninsured.
