Kildare town's St Brigid's boxers to represent Ireland in India

Two members of St Brigid's Boxing Club will represent Ireland in the World Youth Boxing Championships this month in India.

Marguerita Nevin and Katelynn Phelan both with St Brigid Boxing Club in Kildare Town traveled to India on Wednesday.

Katelynn is 17 years old and has seven all Ireland titles and is unbeaten in Ireland.

Marguerita is also 17 years old and has five all Ireland Titles.

There are over 25 other female boxers of the same age and weight from all around the world who are in the same category as Marguerita and Katelynn.

The Kildare CMWS are delighted to be the proud sponsors of the boxing ladies kit for the girls.

The girls will return on the November, 27.

“On behalf of the CMWS and everyone in  opportunity to wish Katelynn and Marguerita a safe journey every success in theirm matches,” said a spokesperson.

“We look forward to welcoming them home.”
