Moone’s Kathleen Weldon was the biggest winner on the twenty fifth show of the National Lottery’s Winning Streak TV Gameshow on Saturday when she won prizes to the value of 70,000.
Winning Streak offers players the chance to win instant prizes up to €100,000. Five players will be selected each week to appear on the Winning Streak TV Gameshow and one lucky player will have the chance to win up to €500,000 on the Grand Prize Wheel.
Each week, an additional lucky player will spin the Dream Maker Wheel for the chance to win between €10,000 and €50,000. This year that game will take place around the country at National Lottery supported project venues and will be hosted by Geri Maye.
This week’s winner was Mary Bolton from Wicklow who won €20,000. Players can enter this game by collecting the letters SPIN on the stub portion of the Winning Streak scratchcard to enter the draw.
Kathleen and her husband Steven were married in 1964. They have five children – P.J, Brendan, Valarie, Gavin and Steven Jnr. They have 10 grandchildren. Kathleen is a housewife.
She purchased the scratch card herself and was watching the show. She was sitting on the couch with her husband last Saturday night and when her name was called out she got such a shock.
Mind you her husband got twice the shock as he did not know she had sent in a scratch card for the drum! Kathleen enjoys knitting and sewing. She spends some time looking after her grandchildren. She does not consider herself to be lucky and has no mascot or charms. Prior to her appearance on the show, she had no plans for her winnings – and was planning to make up her minds once she knew the actual amount.
