A Sallins native is set to realise a lifelong dream of releasing a CD of her favourite songs - and all for a good cause.
Ena Gill, who now lives in Caragh but was born and raised in Sallins, has had a lifelong passion for country music.
That passion was nurtured from a young age by an aunt of hers. And the CD and DVD she is about to launch for Barrettstown Children’s Camp is a product of that love.
Together with her best friends, Ena has, for many years, travelled the length and breadth of Ireland to support their country music favourites.
The CD and DVD is a compilation of some of Ena’s favourite songs.
It features artists such as Philip English, and her own daughter Linda Gill Ryan.
Speaking to the Leinster Leader she said she is “very honoured” to have the opportunity to work with Barrettstown Children’s Camp and would like everyone to join her in supporting this very worthwhile cause. The CD/DVD will be launched at the Ryston Social Club in Nebridge on October 11 at 9pm. And everyone is invited!
