St Conleth’s Pantomime Troupe staged it’s 79th production last week to rave reviews.
With sell out shows from January 26 to February 2 including matinees, the performers earned a well deserved rest this week. Staged at St Conleth’s school hall in Newbridge, tickets were hard to come by with many booking their seats in advance.
The director for this year’s show was Aideen Lacey, Katie Conlan was musical director and Brenda Malone-Gilroy and Aine Foley took on roles as choreographers.
Georgia Cassin of Stage Academy Newbridge played the lead role of Little Red Riding Hood while other actors featured in this year’s production were Ed Mountaine and Pat Cullen as Handy Andy and Simple Simon. Michael F Malone played the Dame while Sarah McDermott impressed as the She Wolf. With 79 annual consecutive shows under it’s belt, this incredible run makes it the longest running pantomime in the country. With number 80 lined up for next year, there is no doubt it will be a special one.
