PHOTO GALLERY: Naas Park Run celebrates fourth birthday

Good turnout last weekend

Naas parkrun celebrated its 4th birthday on St Patricks Day at Naas Racecourse.

As part of our celebrations, the Soda Bread Shop provided a birthday cake, Meastelo coffee were on site with complimentary cappuccinos and lattes and Kildare Sports Partnership sponsored sweet treats and fruit from Swans on the Green.
parkrun is an international event which happens worldwide every Saturday morning at 9:30am.

It's a free weekly timed 5km staged in the community by local volunteers. Participants can walk, jog or run their 5km. The ethos of parkrun is that it is a run, not a race. It's you against the clock.

So you can challenge yourself to improve your time over any given length of time. Parkrun is very popular in Ireland, with over 70 events taking place at various locations right across the country.

The organisers are indebted to the management and staff of Naas racecourse who allow us to use their facilities every Saturday morning all year around.

A special word of thanks too must go to Kildare Sports Partnership for their continued support. Parkrun hope to celebrate many more years of parkrun in Naas. This is a wonderful community event, hosted by local volunteers. Parkrun is open to everybody of all ages.

It's a wonderful way to get fit and active. All you have to do is register for free on and print off your barcode.
Bring it with you on Saturday morning, it will be scanned at the finish line and you will get an email with your time later in the day. Get up, get out and get active!
