Changes proposed for Kildare-based Chinese restaurant

Changes could be on the way to a Chinese-themed restaurant based in County Kildare.
OFG Group Real Estate has applied to Kildare County Council for planning permission to make the changes to Choy’s Chinese Restaurant, which is located on English Row in Celbridge.
The description contained within the application explains that the applicant wants to sub-divide the existing premises into two separate units.
A Chinese restaurant and takeaway is being planned for Unit 1, while a pizza takeaway restaurant is being planned for Unit 2.
OFG Group Real Estate is also seeking permission for:
- Amendments to the existing ground floor shopfront facades
- The installation of a new side window and a new rear window in order to suit proposed layouts
- All associated site works
The date received is listed as July 10 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as August 13, 2026 and September 3, 2026 respectively.
