WELL-known Salesian priest Fr. Pat Egan is ending an 18-year association with Celbridge.
The Drimnagh native, who regularly said the 8.30am Sunday mass in St. Patrick’s church in of Celbridge, said his last mass at at that time on 11 August.
“I really got to enjoy it,” he said, thanking everyone in Celbridge.
He is moving to Crumlin but will retain some links with Celbridge.
His new role will see him serving as secretary to the Provincial, the head of the Salesian order in Ireland.
Pat (72) was ordained in 1969. In September 1995, he moved Celbridge and was chaplain to the school until 1999.
“I really enjoyed the community aspect about Celbridge,” he said.
